Intro to Law is a week-long program designed to help students begin law school. The program gives attendees a better understanding of the legal system and of the skills needed to understand and analyze legal problems.

The program includes sessions on the following topics:

    • Introduction and overview of learning in law school
    • Strategies for being a successful law student
    • Introduction to the legal system including court structure and common law
    • How to read and brief a case
    • Outlining law school courses
    • Applying law to facts
    • Mastering the law school exam

There are also several social activities throughout Intro to Law where you will get to know your classmates, professors, and law school staff.

The program will occur this summer from Monday, August 12, 2019 through Friday, August 16, 2019.  Schedule to be posted later this summer.  There is no cost for attendance or materials.  Students will not receive credit for Intro to Law coursework.

We highly recommend that all incoming Willamette Law students attend. We also recognize that not everyone is able to make it, so attendance for Introduction to Law School is optional.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
